Buddy System for Ukrainian Students
Do you need support, a buddy who meets with you once or twice a week? With a buddy you can, for example
- talk about your current situation.
- drink coffee.
- talk about your studies.
- discuss organisational matters (e.g. filling out forms).
- or simply do something together.
Together with the university, the Innsbruck Students' Union (ÖH) has set up a buddy system for Ukrainian students. We would be happy to put you in touch with a buddy: ukraine@uibk.ac.at.
Further offers from the Students' Union (ÖH)
The ÖH also offers other services to support affected students in the best possible way:
- ÖH emergency aid package
Affected students can apply for a grant of up to € 1,000! More information: https://www.oeh.ac.at/ukraine-info - ÖH subsidy fund for psychotherapy and clinical-psychological treatments
This war is also taking its toll on the psyche of many students. We are recording alarming numbers of students with mental illnesses and the ÖH Innsbruck wants to support them financially. Mental health must not fail because of money. The pot has been expanded again and now allows double the maximum amount of funding!
More information: https://www.oehweb.at/zuschusstopf-fuer-psychotherapie/ - Department for Foreign Students
The ÖH department for foreign students offers a wide range of advice for all international students from non-EEA countries in German, English and Russian.
